On the 26th of January 24 players joined the anniversary golf at Palm Hills. The prizes were given at the party the next day, but there were cold towels between the first and last 9 holes and a few cold beers after the game.
The next day the 10th Anniversary PAR-TEE was a huge success with 60 Members, past Members and guests in attendance. Special guests included representatives from Springfield and Palm Hills Golf Courses with their generous donation of prizes awarded during the night appreciated by all. The party started at 6.30, but many were already seated before that time. There were welcome drinks, a mouth watering buffet, a golf quiz (won by the team Palm Hills / Springfield), a tees guessing game (Ellen Schilling guessed only 3 tees of the total of 395 tees) and a golf holding competition (Vee was the winner for the Ladies with 11 golf balls and Steinar was able to hold 16 golfballs in one hand!
Peter Fitzpatrick was so friendly to donate golfclubs that could be auxioned and in total 5,750 Baht was collected to support both the Straydogs Cha-Am and The Ban Bangket school playground.

After a nice (free) breakfast at Palm Hills the AGM was opened by the president. There were 21 of the 50 current members present at the 2018 AGM. The 2019 AGM will be held in (early) february, because the newly adopted constitution is based on a new timeframe that combines better with the Cha-Am golf season. This new constitution was unanimously adopted at this AGM and it's complete text can be found on this website or by clicking here.
After a two year term our president, Hans Ewalts was up for election and was reappointed in the absence of any other nominations. The general discussion included stableford vs. strokeplay, the handicap policy of the club and upcoming new "rules of golf". After the AGM there was a round of golf; Roger Glass and Inger Brett Vingelt were the winners.

After the flooding problem was solved at the Ban Bangket School, work is now underway on the new playground and the first charity fund payment was being made by the Club on the 8th of January. Below you will find some pictures from our last visit to the school. Beach sand has been brought to the area and the fence is now ready (except for painting), as well as the balance bar and balance stools. The next step is to sift the (beach) sand and repair the play equipment, paint them, and buy some new ones.
First of all, the management committee of the Cha-Am Golf Club wishes you all a very healthy, prosperous and 'swinging' 2018! On the 27th of this month the club celebrates it's 10th anniversary. Make sure you register for the anniversary party (or par-tee) here. Below you will find the january calender. Booking of the january events is possible on the EVENTS - page.
