After a nice (free) breakfast at Palm Hills the AGM was opened by the president. There were 21 of the 50 current members present at the 2018 AGM. The 2019 AGM will be held in (early) february, because the newly adopted constitution is based on a new timeframe that combines better with the Cha-Am golf season. This new constitution was unanimously adopted at this AGM and it's complete text can be found on this website or by clicking here. After a two year term our president, Hans Ewalts was up for election and was reappointed in the absence of any other nominations. The general discussion included stableford vs. strokeplay, the handicap policy of the club and upcoming new "rules of golf". After the AGM there was a round of golf; Roger Glass and Inger Brett Vingelt were the winners. Below some pictures of this day at Palm Hills: Posted by Paul Graff
After the flooding problem was solved at the Ban Bangket School, work is now underway on the new playground and the first charity fund payment was being made by the Club on the 8th of January. Below you will find some pictures from our last visit to the school. Beach sand has been brought to the area and the fence is now ready (except for painting), as well as the balance bar and balance stools. The next step is to sift the (beach) sand and repair the play equipment, paint them, and buy some new ones. First of all, the management committee of the Cha-Am Golf Club wishes you all a very healthy, prosperous and 'swinging' 2018! On the 27th of this month the club celebrates it's 10th anniversary. Make sure you register for the anniversary party (or par-tee) here. Below you will find the january calender. Booking of the january events is possible on the EVENTS - page. Posted By Paul Graff
Due to flooding at the Ban Banket School, the school has not been able to fill the play area with sand. Luckily, this problem is now gone and the school will now start to make the fence and bring sand to the area. Some pictures are below. Posted by Paul Graff
On 12 December, the treasurer of Cha-Am Golfclub paid a visit to Straydogs Cha-Am and made the first periodic payment on behalf of Cha-Am Golf Club. On 11 and 12 December a total of 44 dogs (41 females and 3 males) were sprayd and neutered. These dogs have been taken from the beach area, Cha-Am temple and the old center of Cha-Am, and were snipped, vaccinated (rabiës too), freed of parasites as worms and ticks and flees, and returned back to their packs. Sick dogs will stay in the clinic for treatment. This was already the 25th spray and neuterround. Female dogs are given priority in treatment, because they are the ones who bring new puppies into the world and male dogs are also more territorial and therefore allow new males to enter their habitat less quickly. Because of limited financing, choices have to be made. If members of the Cha-Am Golf Club have issues with dogs in their residential area, they can indicate this to the Management Committee. Straydogs Cha-Am will then consider whether they can offer a solution in a subsequent spray an neuterround.
